ASSE International Student Exchange Program seeks host parents for upcoming year

EAST LANSING, Mich.  — The ASSE Global Scholar Trade Program is attempting to link host mom and dad with intercontinental college students for the impending faculty calendar year in mid-Michigan.

Karen Joseph is the space representative for the ASSE Global University student Trade System. She connects host dad and mom and worldwide learners with identical passions.

“We want the kids to be joyful, but it’s seriously the dad and mom who decide on the college students,” Joseph mentioned.

Anthony Soto and James McGrath have been host parents two times.

“We required to host for our younger daughter. We wished her to meet up with new folks and be uncovered to unique strategies of thinking,” Soto stated.

The initially time was with a scholar from France, and the 2nd time was with a student from Thailand.

Each college students are back in their house international locations, but they strategy on reconnecting soon.

“In a week from now, we’re likely to France to check out him [French student] simply because, you know, extended time no see,” Kinsey McGrath, the daughter of Soto and McGrath mentioned.

Down the road from them was Gustavo Arellano, an global scholar from Mexico who attended Okemos Large School.

Arellano stated he failed to have large anticipations for the United States but was happily surprised.

“I was just expecting regard and love from my family members, but when I arrived, it was much more than that,” Arellano reported.

Arellano is again in Mexico but explained he programs to return to the U.S. for grad college.
