Byrd High School ambassador promotes women empowerment on campus and in the community

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A younger woman spends her time supplying back to many others. She is a leader on campus with a enthusiasm for serving to girls who reminds them to “Think Like A Queen.”

Regan Davis is Senior at Byrd Significant College where she maintains a 4.6 GPA, a part of National Honor Society, College student Council and considerably more. Her friends elected her as Byrd’s 2021 homecoming queen and she’s the captain of the Byrd Superior-Stepper dance staff. She’s president of Female Up, a school team that connects ladies on campus with each other and market positivity.

“We raise recognition for youthful women and feminine empowerment. To just come to feel fantastic and promote psychological well being since you know we someday really do not discuss about that comfortably,” Davis said.

She attempts to be a good role product for young college students, both equally girls and boys, but mentioned they close up inspiring her.

“The girls they join and inspire me. Her inspiration for Lady Up came soon after her own struggles with self-assurance and navigating school and existence.

“I applied to be a person who struggled with social anxiousness. Like when I walked to classrooms I did not feel self-confident. I would hide and just not truly feel like I was cherished or supported and that was simply because I stated that to myself in my head,” Davis stated.

She got concerned in pageants and received when she started off the platform identified as “Think Like a Queen.”

“I understood these doubts and insecurities came from inside and it wasn’t from other men and women. I realized if I transformed my mindset, if I alter the way I check out myself, and if I have enjoy for myself that’s all that issues and that ray of light-weight will glow dazzling to many others,” Davis stated.

Regan is hectic way too, preserving multiple work, operating aspect-time at a local restaurant, and as a princess for the regional business named Solid My Celebration.

“It’s a privilege. It does not feel like a career for me,” Davis mentioned.

She attire up as Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog and fulfills with younger women and hosts distinct functions.

“It’s actually entertaining due to the fact the joy on their faces and they seriously believe it. They are like oh my god she’s truly a princess, and it is just super exciting and I appreciate. I get to sort of pretend to be anyone else for a day, but also convey pleasure to anyone and inspire them,” Davis said.

She brings a satisfying concept with her.

“Princess Tiana would normally mentioned challenging do the job and commitment will carry you success and give you your ambitions. I explain to that to them and to be a good princess is to be form to some others,” Davis said.

She’s also a choreographer for productions at the Shreveport Minimal Theater and is apart of an ongoing enjoy referred to as the Great Wonderettes.

She’s wondering on attending Louisiana Tech for organization and following graduation wishes to try for out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders since she reported dance is not just pleasurable, but it’s her outlet.

“My aim is dance. I appreciate dance. Dance is a my passion. It is a little something I use as power to drive my enthusiasm, my objectives, and aspirations,” Davis stated.

Regan Davis is an inspiration and chief at her university, with a humble coronary heart and sweet smile she likes to share with other people.
