NEWBERRY — Newberry School has announced that Pat Gagliano, chair of arts and communications, will provide as interim dean of arts, humanities and social sciences.
“Pat is a constant leader,” stated Sid Parrish, Ph.D., vice president for educational affairs. “He has a lot of working experience operating in a office that is now a aspect of this division. He is arranged, very clear-pondering, genuine and aim oriented. We are self-assured that this will be a prosperous year less than his leadership.”
Gagliano has served Newberry College because he arrived in 1994 as professor of theatre and speech and chair of the section. During his tenure, he has developed, directed and acted in several college or university theatre productions and suggested innumerable learners. He also served as director of the college lifestyle lessons from 2008-12 and 2019-22.
He has distinguished himself with quite a few awards, which includes Boyd Professorship for Training Excellence (2006-07) the Carter Professorship for Selfless Giving (2009-10) and the National Culture of Leadership and Success’ Excellence in Teaching Award (2014).
He has also been an officer and award-winning educator in the South Carolina Speech and Theatre Affiliation, the South Carolina Theatre Association and the Southeastern Theatre Meeting.
“The faculty in the arts, humanities and social sciences are talented and caring individuals. I seem ahead to doing work with each of them,” claimed Gagliano.
Gagliano has agreed to serve in the interim position for no far more than a year though the establishment conducts a nationwide look for for the division’s long-lasting dean.
