The university will welcome Dr. Mary Louise Noce as its new Dean, Human Solutions and Group Security, at the Orillia Campus. Dr. Noce will get started her new job on Sept. 7.
“Mary Louise brings a lot more than 16 decades of working experience in the Ontario postsecondary sector to Georgian,” said Kevin Weaver, Vice President, Educational. “Her career is distinguished by progressively liable management roles and a demonstrated motivation to equity, diversity and inclusion.”
As Director of Investigate Equity, Variety, and Inclusion Initiatives at Sheridan School, Dr. Noce led the college’s participation in the national Proportions pilot ― an initiative of the a few federal granting organizations in collaboration with Universities Canada and Schools and Institutes Canada ― running and building tactics to combine EDI procedures inside the scholarly, investigation and resourceful ecosystem.
She also launched Sheridan’s inaugural employee self-identification census, led the development of Foundations of Equitable Practice Instruction for workforce and developed a College Study Mentorship Method.
Earlier, Dr. Noce served as Affiliate Dean of Neighborhood Experiments, wherever she led the progress of Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Social and Neighborhood advancement degree and advanced system top quality enhancements. Most notably, Dr. Noce developed a good quality assurance follow innovation identified by the Faculty High quality Assurance Audit Procedure as an institutional finest observe. This fostered significant group partnerships, resulting in the progress of experiential discovering and neighborhood-engaged scholarship alternatives for college students and faculty.
Dr. Noce also served as interim Dean for the Faculty of Applied Overall health and Group Scientific studies the place she collaborated on the improvement of the Faculty’s tutorial strategy. Her postsecondary sector expertise also involves roles as Professor of Social Science, Common Education and learning Co-ordinator, and Curriculum Consultant.
