The winners of the 2022 BigPicture: Normal Entire world Pictures Competitors celebrate lifetime cycles and natural resilience. The graphic, taken in South Texas, shows cactus bees (Diadasia rinconis) in a unusual and intimate instant as they swarm into a ball for a likelihood to mate with 1 female bee. “We do not usually see small organisms in Grand Prize illustrations or photos,” states Suzi Eszterhas, BigPicture Jury Chair, in a statement. “Aigner was able to seize a uncommon and tiny phenomenon and transform it into a little something stunning. Observing this mating ball from the lowest point achievable presents us an intimate viewpoint of this strange habits.”
